Shopify gets a 3D upgrade
Creating 3D models has historically been a costly, time-intensive and complicated process. Not at all practical for most DTC brands.
But Shopify is changing that with the release of iOS 17.
If you have an iPhone Pro model with iOS 17 installed and the latest version of the Shopify app, you can create your own 3D models from your phone in less than 20 minutes.
The reason why Shopify is the top dog in e-commerce is because it always remains at the cutting edge of technology. With the AR tech built in iPhones, Shopify is giving the power of creating amazing interactive buying experiences for shoppers in the palm of your hand.
As Harley says, Shopify is just getting started in spatial commerce. Can’t wait to see what comes next!
Klaviyo finally IPOs
Congrats to Klaviyo for successfully executing their IPO! 🎉
Klaviyo’s shares opened more than 20% higher in their market debut on Wednesday. The offering gave Klaviyo a valuation of $9.2 billion!
Founded in 2012, Klaviyo has seen strong and steady growth throughout its 11 years leading up to the IPO:
With 130,000 customers using their platform, and a $15 million profit on $321 million of revenue in the first half of 2023, Klaviyo has attracted investors with their strong top line growth.
They had listed their initial public offering price at $30, which jumped to $36.75 on Wednesday, going as high as $39.47 at one point.
BlackRock & AllianceBernstein have each agreed to buy upto $100 million worth of shares which accounts for a big chunk of the total IPO proceeds.

Merchant updates roundup
Shopify’s rolled out a bunch of small updates and improvements. Let’s check them out quickly:
“Gift Card ID” has been added as a column in reports to understand which gift card was used by which customer for an order.
Shopify Flow gets a “Log output” action to display the variables value in the run log without needing to take an action in the workflow. This should be helpful for ensuring that Flows are set up correctly and to debug them.
More POS PINs to set upto a 6-digit PIN for staff accounts.
Merchants with POS Go can remotely log out from devices in their POS admin panel.
Shopify Inbox widget’s icons and text can be customized to align it with your brand identity.
Shopify Forms app can now be used by prospective B2B customers to submit their information for review.
