Audiences expands to more platforms

Shopify has shipped a major update to Shopify audiences.

With Audiences 2.1, merchants get 2 major powerups:

  1. Integrations with Snapchat, TikTok and Criteo to run ads

  2. Benchmarks to compare ad performance

For the uninitiated, Shopify Audiences is a free but exclusive tool for Shopify Plus merchants using Shopify Payments in US or Canada. The audience lists from this tool are based on millions of signals across Shopify, which can then be exported to the connected advertising accounts.

This gives your audience targeting on these ad platforms more relevance, which the ad platforms alone do not have.

Shopify Audiences launched last year, and according to Shopify, the best-performing algorithms are seeing merchants lower their cost per acquisition (CPAs) by up to 50%.

With results like these, it’s no surprise why merchants in other countries also want access to this.

Shopify Markets get impactful improvements

While Markets has been among the best features of Shopify for multi-country stores, it has lacked a few tiny things.

  • The currency can be set to any currency independent of the merchant's shop currency.

  • The country can be set independently of the primary market's currency, such that combinations like Canada and USD are now possible.

  • Price lists can be created, allowing you to set fixed prices and percentage adjustments for the primary market.

Should make life a lot easier for brands in a country different to their primary market.

Headless builds get bundles support

In another low-key product update, merchants who use Hydrogen or the Storefront API for headless builds can now offer product bundles with Shopify.

Merchants can use the Headless Channel in the admin to offer product bundles with:

  1. Shopify’s free Bundles app - Best for creating fixed bundles & multipacks

  2. One of the updated Bundle apps which use Shopify Function - For more complex bundle builds

  3. Use APIs (Shopify Plus & Shopify Partners only) - For any use cases not covered either through Shopify’s own or the 3rd party apps

Bundles are one of the easiest and most impactful ways to increase average order value. This should help even brands with headless builds get in on the action.
