A very fulfilling update

Plus: Get ready for Shopify Editions!

Good morning! Welcome to Shop Pulse – where the latest in e-commerce fulfillment is packed and ready to ship. We will be bringing a special “Summer Editions” edition later this week.
But until then let's unwrap this week's updates together!

  • Split and merge orders ➕

  • Fulfillment Constraints API 👨🏻‍💻

  • Adjust fulfillment location and status for items 📍

Split and merge orders ➕

You now have the flexibility to split and/or merge items in one order, making your fulfillment process adapt to your needs.

  • Fulfill partial orders: Send out part of an order if some item(s) are out of stock. You can later send out the stock product in a separate package.

  • Ship from different locations: If you have items stored in various locations, you can send them from wherever they are by splitting / merging items across orders.

  • Break big orders: Great for B2B brands who can split large order quantities into multiple shipments.

Fulfillment Constraints API 👨🏻‍💻

The Fulfillment Constraints API lets you set rules about how and where products are sent from. If these rules aren't met, the checkout won't show any shipping rates. For example:

  • You can make sure certain items in the cart are sent from the same place.

  • You can list specific places where items should be sent from.

  1. MustFulfillFrom: Choose locations to send items from. If those places don't have the items, no shipping options will be shown and checkout will be blocked

  2. MustFulfillFromSameLocation: All items in the cart must be sent from one location. If they aren't all available there, shipping options won't appear and checkout will be blocked

Adjust fulfillment location and status for items📍

Before, changes could only be made to the entire order. This update lets you better match the way you send products to what your business needs, whether it's waiting for restocks or sending specific items from different places.

To do so, you’d need to fulfill orders manually.

Pulse Check ⚡️

  1. Custom pixels will now show previously saved versions, allowing you to roll back pixel updates if necessary.

  2. Drill down into marketing campaigns for granular data of your conversion funnel and marketing activities.

  3. Shopify released a heartfelt video on why Shopify exists. Go watch it. Now!
